Eigentlich ist die aktuelle Situation an den Finanzmärkten ja wirklich nicht zum Lachen. Aber als ich den folgenden Text gelesen hatte, konnte ich es mir doch nicht ganz verkneifen.

Investment analyst and entrepreneur Dr. Marc Faber concluded his monthly bulletin (June 2008) with the following:

”The federal government is sending each of us a $600 rebate. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money goes to China. If we spend it on gasoline it goes to the Arabs. If we buy a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.
If we purchase a good car it will go to Germany. If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in US. I’ve been doing my part.”

Die geplante Facebook-Kampagne mit smaboo (Details, Kampagnen-Katalog), sorgt gerade für einigen Wirbel. Vor allem in den USA hat die erste Offline-Kampagne für Aufsehen gesorgt und smaboo bekam dadurch eine prominente Erwähnung mit einem Artikel auf TechCrunch – schlichtweg DEM Internetszene-Blog in den USA. Etwas worauf viele Startups sehnlichst warten.

Weiter gab es darüber Artikel auf washingtonpost.com sowie im Blog “Social Networking Watch” sowie einen eher satirischen Beitrag auf tinychrunch.com.

In Deutschland gabs Coverage durch Robert Basic mit basicthinking.de, auf gruenderszene.de, auf deutsche-startups.de, auf Nico Lummas f8club.de, auf blogwave.de und durch ethority.de. In der Schweiz hatte Philippe mit seinem Artikel einige Tage vor dem Rummel schon einiges der Entwicklung vorausgesehen.

Auch das weitere Europa kann mit Blogposts aus Spanien, der Türkei und Polen mithalten..
